Today is the day: Lanvin for H&M

Ebbene sì, oggi è il grande giorno: ore 10:00 (se non prima) inaugurazione della collezione Lanvin for H&M. Immagino file lunghe chilometri, donne pronte a tutto pur di riuscire ad afferrare il capo da loro tanto sognato, un pò come l'anno scorso durante l'apertura della linea Jimmy Choo for H&M. Dico "immagino" perchè io quest'anno non sono una delle tante donne sopra citate: senza convenevoli o giri di parole inutili, ammetto che la linea Lanvin for H&M è un disastro totale. 

Yes, today is the "day": 10:00 am (if not before) opening of the Lanvin collection for H&M. I imagine file kilometers long, women ready to do anything to grasp the dress that they want, a bit like last year during the opening of the Jimmy Choo collection for H&M. I say "imagine" because this year I am not one of the many women mentioned above: no pleasantries or rounds of useless words, I admit that the Lanvin collection for H&M is a total disaster.

  

Lasciando stare la tipologia dei capi creati, un fattore molto più preoccupante ha reso questa linea una completa buffonata: gli scarsi materiali e la scarsa lavorazione degli abiti. Si vede chiaramente l'orlo sfilacciato di questo abito sopra riportato, e di tutti gli altri abiti della collezione; per quanto possa piacere Lanvin, sfido chiunque a presentarsi a una festa formale vestito con un capo privo di orlo e fili che rischiano di tirarsi in ogni dove. 
Alber Elbaz, il direttore creativo di Lanvin, si è difeso replicando che questi abiti sono stati volutamente cuciti e creati così. Sinceramente, guardando questo abito giallo, la prima impressione è di un pezzo di stoffa buttato lì e tenuto insieme da una cintura; non per sminuire il lavoro altrui, ovviamente.

Leaving aside the kind of dresses created, more worrying factosr have made this collection a complete joke: the poor materials and poor workmanship of clothes. Everybody can clearly sees the frayed hem of this dress above, and all other clothing of the collection; I challenge anyone to present to formal party dress with dress-free hem and threatened to pull wires everywhere.Alber Elbaz, Lanvin's creative director, defended himself replied that the clothes were sewn and created intentionally so. Honestly, watching this yellow dress, the first impression is of a piece of cloth thrown there and held together by a belt, not to belittle the work of others, of course.

 

 Una nota positiva, invece, per le scarpe: dècolletté classiche impreziosite da cristalli e fiocco alla caviglia, da indossare senza timore a qualsiasi occasione formale. Magari le troverò tra un paio di anni in svendita su ebay :)

 On a positive note, however, for the shoes: classic decollette embellished with crystals and bow at the ankle, to be worn without fear to any formal occasion. Perhaps I'll find it in a couple of years on sale on ebay:)

Altra nota positiva per i fantastici rossetti della collezione, disponibili in quattro colori: rosso fuoco, rosa vernice, prugna e cipria. 

Another positive note for the wonderful collection of lipsticks, available in four colors: flame red, pink paint, plum and powder.

 

Infine, le borse: definirle ridicole è poco. La fantasia animalier è fantastica nella sua solitudine e non invece addobbata da inutili pezzi di stoffa color arancio e rosa; probabilmente utilizzerei questa pochette durante una festa in maschera. Sono davvero molto più belle ed eleganti le shopping bag fornite dai negozi H&M durante l'acquisto della linea. 

Finally, the bags: define them ridiculous is just rather. The animalier's fantasy is fantastic in her solitude and not be useless pieces of cloth decorated in orange and pink; probably I'd use this clutch during a costume party. Are really most elegant the shopping bags provided by H&M stores when buying the collection.

 

Insomma, una pesante critica a questa collezione, sperando che l'anno prossimo H&M scelga un collaboratore con più voglia di creare capi fatti bene.
